An Article from the HBA

The HBA of Berks County has worked hard over the
years, and is working just as hard now to protect
the rights of ALL present and future homeowners
throughout Pennsylvania in general and Berks County
in particular. On a state wide level we have been
instrumental in working with the Pennsylvania
Attorney General in passing and implementing the PA
Home Improvement Contractor Registration Law. Make
sure that any Contractor working at your home is
registered with the Attorney General. We have, and
continue to support Property Tax Elimination.
Property taxes have reached a level in Berks County
that is becoming unsustainable if left unchecked.
Educational Impact Fees, Statewide Building Code,
Reality Transfer Tax and other important issues are
constantly being reviewed to insure homeowners in
Berks County are protected.
All of our members voluntarily subscribe to a Code
of Ethics, pertaining to interaction with clients
and fellow members. We have continuous Educational
Seminars on updated Building Codes, Green Building,
new Products and Procedures, available Home Owner
Tax Credits and many other issues which help them
better serve their clientele. So before you do
business with anyone, check this website first.
Support an association that has been supporting
homeowner rights and housing affordability for over
40 years. Before you allow anyone to perform an
estimate on work to be performed on your home, make
sure they are a member of the HBA of Berks County.
